Alexandros P. Mallias  former  Ambassador of Greece to the USA is the recipient of the Martin Luther King International Legacy Award (2007). His long diplomatic career includes following assignments : 

- Ambassador to Albania ( 1999-2000)  

- first H.O.M. ( Ambassador) to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia( 1995-1999).

-Political  Director for Balkan Affairs at the MFA ( 2000-2005)

-First  Political Counselor  at the Greek Mission to the United Nations  1989-1993

-Negotiator of the Paris Charter for a New Europe ( Vienna ,1990)

-Charge d'Affaires to Libya ( 1982-1984)
