Angelos Karakostas
Angelos Karakostas in December 2017 elected as Chairman of Hellenic Ports Association.
In August 2016 was appointed Deputy CEO of Piraeus Port Authority S.A. (PPA) Greece after COSCO Shipping acquisition of 51% equity of PPA.
In 2009, Angelos was appointed Deputy General Manager of Piraeus Container Terminal S.A. (PCT), Greece.
As member of the COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited family, his link between the Chinese and Greek reality was crucial for the successful completion of the 35 year Concession Agreement between Piraeus Port Authority (PPA) and COSCO SHIPPING Ports Limited.
Angelos joined COSCO SHIPPING Lines (Greece) S.A. in 1997 as a General Manager.
During this period he worked hard in cooperation with COSCO SHIPPING Lines Co. Ltd.to transform Piraeus and Thessaloniki ports in hub centers for the expansion of the Chinese market in the Balkans and in Europe.
Angelos holds:
- a MBA degree from Teeside University, UK
- a MSc degree in Management from Teesside University, UK
- a Master in Business Research from Patras University, Greece.
He graduated from University of Patras were he was admitted in the Department of Mathematics in 1984.
