Dr. Spyros Dimolitsas
Dr. Spiros Dimolitsas is Senior Vice President for Research & Chief Technology Officer at Georgetown University where he fosters the development of research programs, and leads innovation alliances with industry, universities, and national laboratories. Prior to joining Georgetown he was Associate Director of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Program Director of the Communications Satellite Corporation (Comsat), and held various roles with United Technologies Corporation, the Mayo Clinic, and HENE S.A. in the United States and Europe.
Spiros has consulted for Smart Technology Ventures, and served on the Board of Directors of Maxoptix Corporation and CMX Technologies. He serves on the boards of the Stevens Systems Engineering Research Center, the Lawrence Livermore Engineering Review Committee, and the Board of Directors of Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. and the Board of Directors of MedStar Health Research Institute. In 1992 he was a recipient of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Outstanding Achievement Medallion.
In 2013 he was named to the US National Academy of Inventors.
