Ioannis Dalmas is a political advisor in the Socialists and Democrats Group in the European Parliament working on the implementation of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development agenda at EU level, with a particular focus on the fight against inequalities. He has contributed to the drafting of the Sustainable Equality Report and has been in charge of its communication strategy. He previously worked in the international trade and development committees of the European Parliament, dealing with trade relations with Latin American countries and Turkey as well as with EU development and humanitarian policies.

Ioannis studied economics and health care management in Athens University and worked as a political and communications advisor in the private and public sector.

He served as a member of the campaign team for the socialists during the national and European elections of 2009. He was a cabinet member of the Hellenic Minister of Culture and Tourism and parliamentary assistant in the Hellenic Parliament.

He has been a co-founder and project manager of the NGO ERGOTAXIO aiming to stimulate the community's support of public schools experiencing infrastructural problems.
