Ioannis Golias
Ioannis Golias is the Rector of the National Technical University of Athens, Professor of the Civil Engineering School and Head of the Traffic Engineering Laboratory. He is a Civil Engineer Graduate of NTUA, with an M.Sc and a Ph.D from University of London.
He has directed numerous transport and feasibility studies in Greece and other countries and has coordinated a large number of Greek and European Commission research projects. He has more than 200 publications in Greek and international scientific journals and conferences and has accepted more than 4000 citations. He is and has been member of various Greek and European Commission scientific and research committees.
He has served as Caretaker Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy, Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Dean of the NTUA School of Civil Engineering, member of the Board of the Organization for the Urban Development of Athens, member of the Board of the Public Company for the Unification of Athens Archaeological Sites, Vice President of the Athens Municipality Development Company, member of the Committee for the re-accreditation of Civil Engineering Schools in Croatia, Head of the Hellenic Society of Transportation Engineers, member of the Greek National Transport Council.
