Konstantinos Achilles Kanellopoulos
Konstantinos Kanellopoulos is a doctoral researcher at the University of Manchester, completing a dissertation – “A Tale of Two Depressions” – focusing on Modern Greece’s financial crisis episodes, bringing together the Political Economy, Economic History and the institutional deficiencies of the Greek state.
Apart from his academic expertise in European Affairs (Politics, Integration and Foreign Policy), he has published works on Populism and Euroscepticism, as well as Globalization, the International Order and the Geopolitics of Energy.
Prior to joining Manchester, he obtained a wide array of professional experiences in policy-making, serving as an expert for EU/Transatlantic institutions (NATO, European Commission, European Parliament & the Greek MoFA) and think tanks on both sides of the Atlantic.
In 2009 he established an NGO, FORUNIMED and initiated a systematic effort raising awareness on Climate Change, Sustainability and Energy Security in the Mediterranean.
Mr. Kanellopoulos was named a ‘future leader’ by TIME and Bentley University (Tomorrow 25 and was an honorary representative of the Greek-American Community to the White House, during President Obama. He holds an M.A. in International Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a B.A. in International Relations, Political Science and Philosophy from American University.
