Kostas Karantininis is agricultural economist, professor at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Alnarp. He was previously the Van Vliet Chair Professor at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, and Professor at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, assistant professor at the Panteion University of Athens, Greece and researcher at the University of Wageningen, The Netherlands,. He holds a BA on law and economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and MSC and PhD degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Research and teaching on agricultural policy, economic development, industrial organisation, institutional economics and econometrics, in Greece, The European Union, North America, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

He recently published the book "A new paradigm for Greek Agriculture" (MacMillan, 2017).
