Michael G. Jacobides
Michael G. Jacobides is the Sir Donald Gordon Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation and Professor of Strategy at London Business School, where he teaches on turnarounds and transformation. An Academic Advisor of BCG and Visiting Scholar at the New York Fed, he has visited Harvard, NYU, Cambridge, Imperial, Bocconi and Wharton, where he obtained his PhD, after studying at Athens, Cambridge and Stanford. He studies industry evolution, new business models, value migration and structural change in firms and sectors. His work has appeared in the top academic journals as well as HBR, FT, Kathimerini, and appears on BBC and CNN. A frequent speaker in corporate events, he has worked on strategy with McKinsey, Accenture, PwC, Santander, Zurich, CS, Airbus, Lufthansa, Vodafone, Nokia, MerckSerono and the NHS. On policy, he has worked with the UK parliament (on the future of financial services), the European Council (on innovation in Europe) and has spearheaded RedesignGreece. He served on the Global Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum, where he is the academic co-director of the Digital Platforms & Ecosystems Project and has presented in the Davos Annual meetings.
