Petros Efthymiou is a journalist and educator. He spent more than 15 years working at all levels of education, co-running a kindergarten, teaching high school students History and Greek Philology, and lecturing as visiting professor at the Department of Communication and Mass Media at Panteion University. He served as an MEP at the Committee of Education and Culture (1999-2000) and as the Minister of Education of Greece (2000-2004). He has extensive experience in the field of international relations and foreign policy, as President of the Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE for two consecutive terms (2010-2012). In 2012-2013 he was a fellow at the Wetherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. Currently, he is conducting research on the Greek economy and society.
