Richard Jackson, President of Athens College-Psychico College & Ioannis M. Carras Kindergarten, earned his degrees at Princeton University (AB) and Tufts University (Master’s in International Relations - Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy).

For 30 years he pursued a diplomatic career that involved US representation in various sectors and in many countries around the world.  During the period 1972-1977, he served in Greece as Consul in Thessaloniki and as Commercial Attaché of the American Embassy in Athens.

His active involvement in the realm of education unfolded in the 1990s as Executive Director of the Association for Diplomatic Studies & Training (ADST) and Dean of Area Studies, Foreign Service Institute of the Department of State.

In 1999, at the conclusion of his diplomatic career, he was appointed President of Anatolia College and the American College of Thessaloniki (ACT) in Greece, servicing for 11 consecutive years.  In 2009, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters from ACT.  His involvement with educational issues had a broader dimension as President of the Association of American International Colleges & Universities, and other related posts.

Mr. Jackson is the author of three books and several studies and articles, relating to, among other topics, education.
