Stefan Kilian is Managing Director and Head of Human Pharma MIDI region (The Netherlands, Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Cyprus, Luxemburg, Iceland) at Boehringer Ingelheim, one of the pharmaceutical industry’s top 20 companies.

During his professional life with BI he has worked in different business environments and diverse cultures creating “value through innovation” in collaboration with great teams and individuals. 

He is a graduate of the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz and holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Business Management.  He has participated in the General Management Program at the University of St. Gallen as well as in International Leadership Programs at IMD (Switzerland) and INSEAD (France).

Stefan joined BI in 1983 and has since then contributed to BI’s success in various roles, as President & Managing Director in different Asian and European countries, Head of Prescription Medicines business and Head of Global Market Access (Corporate Vice President). 

What drives him personally is the desire to make a difference to healthcare and societies by bringing new and innovative medicines to patients in need.  As a leader, he has a strong belief that the company’s culture and success are powered by its people.
