Vasilis G. Dimopoulos
Vasilis Dimopoulos is the Vice President of Sales Strategy and Large Deals for Middle East and Africa (MEA) and, in parallel to that the MEA Business Analytics Leader. In these roles he is responsible for the definition of the required sales strategy and its execution through the associated Sales organization he is managing.
Vasilis Dimopoulos developed and maintains a deep understanding of the IT markets in Greece, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa through several work assignments with Oracle and IBM. More specifically, he joined Oracle in January 2005 as the Chairman & Managing Director of Oracle Hellas and held the role until 2010. In parallel to that he was appointed Vice President for the Greece-Cyprus-Malta-FYROM Cluster of Countries. In 2010 he undertook the responsibility for the Business Applications organization in Eastern & Central Europe and CIS and in 2012 he extended his geographical responsibility with Middle East & Africa, covering several domains of Business Applications and Engineered Systems. Prior to his current role, he was the Vice President for North & Sub-Sahara Africa and Levant. Before joining Oracle, Vasilis Dimopoulos held various leadership positions in his 17-years IBM career.
He holds a BSc in Business Administration and an MSc in Computer Science. He speaks four languages. He is married and has three children.
